Phalaenopsis Care Guide

Phalaenopsis orchids can be grown as indoor plants as long as they get a sufficient amount of light & air circulation.

  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Flowering require bright indirect light. Learn more about light here

 Watering

Please be careful with the watering as the Sphagnum moss medium retains too much moisture. The medium could take up to a week to dry. Other medium like Pine bark dries within 1 or 2 days. Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant.  Learn more about watering here

Fertilizing

Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here

Description

Elevate your collection with the vibrant, sun-kissed beauty of Vandaenopsis Pulcherrimin (Phalaenopsis pulcherrima × Vanda miniata)! Showcasing a stunning 50/50 genetic split, this intergeneric hybrid merges the dense, upright flower spikes of Phalaenopsis with the intense, neon saturated coral orange hues of Vanda.

🌸 Flower Specialties

  • Parentage: Phalaenopsis pulcherrima × Vanda miniata.

  • Stunning Sunburst Colors: Features rich, neon saturated blooms that open in brilliant shades of coral orange, bright golden-yellow, or salmon pink.

  • Starry Form & Dense Spikes: Petite, star-shaped flowers (2 to 4 cm across) form tightly clustered, upright spikes.

  • Sequential & Long-Lasting Blooms: Flower spikes bloom sequentially over many weeks, providing an extended, high impact color display.

  • "Sunscreen" Leaf Signal: Bright lighting triggers natural purple pigments (anthocyanin) on the foliage; a reddish-purple blush indicates ideal energy levels for blooming.

🌿Care Guide

  • Light: Bright, indirect light (East or West window). Requires higher light levels than standard Phalaenopsis, but shield from harsh midday sun.

  • Watering Strategy: Follow a fast wet-and-dry cycle drench until roots turn bright green, then allow the potting medium to dry almost completely before watering again.

  • Humidity & Airflow: Thrives in 50%–80% humidity with strong, continuous air circulation to protect the crown and roots.

  • Temperature: Loves warm to intermediate indoor conditions between 18°C and 30°C; protect from drafts and cold snaps below 12°C.

Kindly note, the orchid images presented here capture blooms nurtured under optimal conditions. Variations in appearance can and do occur as a response to environmental conditions, most notably factors such as ambient temperature, the type of fertilizer used, and light exposure. We sincerely appreciate your understanding that each orchid bloom is unique, reflecting its own individual beauty that may differ from the sample images shown.
