Vanda Care Guide
Vandaceous plants require daily watering and in the summer probably twice a day. Spray the water on the roots until the grey roots turns green. You can also soak the roots once in a week with fertilizer water, if the plants appear dehydrated. Learn more about watering here
Trichoglottis brachiata sp. is native to the Philippines. Leaves are stiff and 2-3 inches long. The 2-3inch flowers are very fragrant and long-lasting! Grow in bright light, This species blooms during the spring-summer season in velvety wine coloured attractive flowers with a complimentary pink/white lip.
These orchids are all epiphytic. They do not like any potting medium. Vanda orchid roots must not be allowed to dry out entirely. Watering of this vandaceous species must be done with care to prevent water from remaining in the crowns (top leaves), a condition that can cause crown rot.
