Oncidium orchids grow well under medium light. However certain hybrids from Thailand can even grown in bright indirect light. Learn more about light here 

 Watering

Please be careful with the watering as the Sphagnum moss medium retains too much moisture. The medium could take up to a week to dry. Other medium like Pine bark dries within 1 or 2 days. Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. Fertilizing

🌿 Care Guide

  • ☀️ Light: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight (similar to Cattleya light levels). Leaves developing a light reddish or purplish blush indicate optimal light exposure.

  • 💧 Watering (Rapid Wet-to-Dry): Water thoroughly in the morning, ensuring roots dry out completely within a few hours. Water mounted plants daily or pot grown plants every 3 to 5 days once the substrate is completely dry.

  • 🪵 Potting Media & Setup: Native to twigs, they require ultra-fast draining media like charcoal, volcanic rock, or coarse pine bark or can be grown mounted bare root on cork or wood slabs. Avoid dense moss or heavy soils.

  • 🌡️ Temperature & Airflow: Prefers warm temperatures between 18°C and 30°C+. Continuous, gentle air movement is mandatory to keep moisture from sitting between overlapping leaf joints.
