Description

Rhynchostylis retusa pink also called the foxtail orchid, is a vandaceous species of orchid. Flowers have a spicy aroma that is released when temperatures are warm. The inflorescence is pendulous, consisting of more than 100 pink-spotted white flowers. This species blooms on the onset of spring, during the Assamese harvest festival Bihu In India. Limited Stock!

Humidity is critical and the plant should be misted or watered daily. These orchids are all epiphytic. They do not like any potting medium. Vanda orchid must not be allowed to dry out entirely. Saturate the roots with water every time you water, which means the roots should turn green and retain a drop of water at the tip. Watering of this Vandas must be done with care to prevent water from remaining in the crowns ( top leaves), a condition that can cause crown rot.
