Short Description: Rhynchostylis gigantea orchid grows from short-stemmed pseudobulbs that have long, fleshy roots. Well-arranged dense flowered inflorescences, that will have dozens of tiny spicy fragrant flowers, appear in autumn and winter. Flowers are white with bigger purple spots, the lip is dark pink/purple. The pattern of spots makes each flower look like the face of a cartoon. Gigantea Red and cartoon plants will normally have tiny black genetic dots on their leaves.

These orchids are all epiphytic.They do not like any potting medium. Vanda orchid must not be allowed to dry out entirely. Saturate the roots with water everytime you water, that means the roots should turn green and retain a drop of water at the tip. Watering of this Vandas must be done with care to prevent water from remaining in the crowns ( top leafs), a condition that can cause crown rot.
