Phalaenopsis Care Guide

Phalaenopsis orchids can be grown as indoor plants as long as they get a sufficient amount of light & air circulation.

  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Flowering require bright indirect light. Learn more about light here

 Watering

Please be careful with the watering as the Sphagnum moss medium retains too much moisture. The medium could take up to a week to dry. Other medium like Pine bark dries within 1 or 2 days. Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant.  Learn more about watering here

Fertilizing

Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here

Description

Add a touch of sweet, sophisticated luxury to your home with the Phalaenopsis Pink Icing Orchid Plant. Beautifully bred for its unique, highly sought-after "Big Lip" mutation, this premium hybrid showcases elegant, soft pink-peach blossoms that look as delicious as their name implies. Highly adaptable and exceptionally long-lasting, it is the perfect low-maintenance statement piece for indoor plant lovers seeking something far beyond the ordinary grocery store variety.

✨ Key Features

  • The "Big Lip" Structural Form: The defining feature of this hybrid is its highly modified, enlarged, and flattened central labellum (lip). Unlike standard moth orchids with a tiny lip, this bloom mimics a uniform petal presentation.

  • Complex Visual Contrast: Elegant pastel pink-peach petals provide a soft backdrop for a vividly detailed central column, highlighting prominent leopard-like orange and magenta patterns.

  • Unprecedented Bloom Longevity: Thanks to modern complex tissue breeding, an individual stem can carry a cascade of multiple flowers that stay fresh and perfect for 2 to 3 months indoors.

🌿 Care Guide

Phalaenopsis orchids make excellent indoor houseplants provided they receive sufficient light and air circulation:

  • ☀️ Light: Position in bright, indirect sunlight (ideal for east-facing windows or shaded west/south balconies). Avoid direct midday sun, which will instantly scorch the leaves.

  • 💧 Watering Strategy: Water carefully, as orchid medium retains moisture. Touch and feel the medium—water thoroughly only when it is partially dry, the pot feels light, and the visible aerial roots turn a silver-grey color. The medium can take up to a week to dry.

  • Crown Safety: Pour water directly into the potting medium or moss. Never let water settle inside the center crown (where the leaves meet) to prevent fatal crown rot.

  • 🌡️ Temperature & Humidity: Keep room temperatures consistently warm between 21°C and 32°C. Boost humidity above 50% by placing the pot over a humidifying water-and-pebble tray.

Kindly note, the orchid images presented here capture blooms nurtured under optimal conditions. Variations in appearance can and do occur as a response to environmental conditions, most notably factors such as ambient temperature, the type of fertilizer used, and light exposure. We sincerely appreciate your understanding that each orchid bloom is unique, reflecting its own individual beauty that may differ from the sample images shown.
