Short Description: Phalaenopsis philippinensis is native to the rain forests in the Philippines. The inflorescence has beautiful semi-pendulous, branching blooms. Large older plants can produce over 50 flowers that open simultaneously. The leaves are 5"-12" long, oval, dark green with silver markings on the upper surface and purple on the underside. This mottled leaves look very beautiful. The flowers are 6-9 cm across, flat, with a delicate texture. Initially, the flowers open as tints of pink, but over time they change color to white. A must have in your species collection.
Phalaenopsis orchids can be grown as indoor plants as long as they get sufficient amount of light & air circulation. Please be careful with the watering as the medium retains too much moisture. Touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant. The medium could take up to a week to dry.
