Watering
Please be careful with the watering as the Sphagnum moss medium retains too much moisture. The medium could take up to a week to dry. Other medium like Pine bark dries within 1 or 2 days. Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant. Learn more about watering here
Fertilizing
Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here
Description
Phalaenopsis mannii sp. is a species orchid, also called as Mann's Phalaenopsis, named after a German orchid enthusiast Gustav Mann. This species is native to the eastern Indian Himalayas, Assam, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar, southern China and Vietnam, usually found growing near forest streams or marshes, which together with dense forest undergrowth give high humidity throughout the year, despite the dry conditions in the adjacent areas. Fragrant, star-shaped and slightly curved, waxy, long-lived flowers open successively on the inflorescence. Flowers could be yellow to brown and usually have reddish spots, but they can also be pure yellow.
Phalaenopsis orchids can be grown as indoor plants as long as they get a sufficient amount of light & air circulation.
