Phalaenopsis Care Guide

Phalaenopsis orchids can be grown as indoor plants as long as they get a sufficient amount of light & air circulation.

  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Flowering require bright indirect light. Learn more about light here

 Watering

Please be careful with the watering as the Sphagnum moss medium retains too much moisture. The medium could take up to a week to dry. Other medium like Pine bark dries within 1 or 2 days. Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant.  Learn more about watering here

Fertilizing

Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here

Description

Phalaenopsis Joy Angel (frequently registered as Phalaenopsis Joy Angel Voice) is an extraordinary hybrid moth orchid renowned for its dramatic, art-like color saturation. This exquisite Phal is a masterfully created cross between Phal Joy angel Voice X Phal. Rayoung Fancy, bringing together a rich genetic lineage heavily influenced by legendary wild species like Phalaenopsis amabilis and Phalaenopsis schilleriana.

These plants have been recently transfered to 4.7" plastic pots with moss in the centre & cococoal around the moss.

🌸 Flower Specialty
  • Showcases a mesmerizing contrast featuring deep velvet purple to rich wine-red petals heavily framed by crisp white accents, elegantly finished with a bright, contrasting yellow and white lip at its center.
  • Produces beautifully structured, flat, and round blooms measuring around 4 to 6 cm in size. The flowers are arranged gracefully along strong spikes, mimicking the flight of a kaleidoscope of butterflies.
  • Well-suited for intermediate to warm climates. Known for its excellent longevity, a single spike can bloom multiple times a year depending on cultural conditions, with flowers remaining pristine for weeks on end.
🌿 Care Guide
  • Requires 70% bright, indirect sunlight. An east- or north-facing indoor windowsill provides the perfect amount of soft morning light, but the plant must be strictly shielded from harsh midday direct sun to protect its leaves.
  • Needs a consistent yet cautious watering approach. Because it is typically potted in water-retentive sphagnum moss, allow the top layer of the medium to dry out before watering thoroughly again, ensuring water never stagnates or pools inside the leaf crown.
  • Thrives in standard household environments with an ideal temperature range between 18°C and 32°C. It strongly prefers a humid atmosphere of 60% to 70% coupled with good air circulation to keep its extensive aerial roots healthy and free from rot.

Kindly note, the orchid images presented here capture blooms nurtured under optimal conditions. Variations in appearance can and do occur as a response to environmental conditions, most notably factors such as ambient temperature, the type of fertilizer used, and light exposure. We sincerely appreciate your understanding that each orchid bloom is unique, reflecting its own individual beauty that may differ from the sample images shown.
