Dendrobium Care Guide

Dendrobium orchids can be grown as indoor plants as long as they get a sufficient amount of light & air circulation.

  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Plants grown under ideal light will have apple green leaves and plants which are not getting enough light will have dark green leaves. Learn more about light here

 Watering

In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark.  Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant.  Learn more about watering here

Fertilizing

Fertilizing your orchid regularly provides it with the nutrients it needs for optimal health, immunity and vigorous blooming. Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here

Dendrobium Tomflake Nopori is a highly captivating, Japanese-bred soft cane Nobile hybrid. This compact variety is perfect for hobbyists wanting to save space, delivering a spectacularly full, mass-blooming appearance without taking over your collection.

🌸 Flower Specialty
  • Showcases superb, crisp white flowers framed with soft pink edges, typically highlighted by a rich, dark contrast eye at the center.
  • Extremely floriferous, blooming in dense clusters of 3 to 4 flowers per node, which combine into massive clusters running up the length of the cane. Given optimal care, a single cane can explode with lots of heavily fragrant blooms!
  • Well-suited for intermediate settings. Unlike traditional Nobile types that require a rigorous dry chill, this adaptive hybrid can be grown warmer, allowing it to fully retain its lush foliage and easily re-flower from older canes as well as newly developed ones. The blossoms are exceptionally durable, remaining pristine for 2 months or more.
🌿 Care Guide
  • Thrives in bright, filtered indirect light. Provide strong lighting conditions to trigger maximum bud development along the canes, but shield the leaves from scorching afternoon sun.
  • Maintain a systematic approach during the active growing season by watering thoroughly when the potting medium approaches dryness, ensuring the roots stay damp but never soggy. If grown in cooler winter setups, cut back watering slightly.
  • Adaptable across intermediate to warm temperatures. Keeping the environment on the warmer side allows the plant to stay evergreen, though a minor nightly temperature drop will heavily benefit its signature blooming potential.
