Dendrobium Care Guide

Dendrobium orchids can be grown as indoor plants as long as they get a sufficient amount of light & air circulation.

  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Plants grown under ideal light will have apple green leaves and plants which are not getting enough light will have dark green leaves. Learn more about light here

 Watering

In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark.  Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant.  Learn more about watering here

Fertilizing

Fertilizing your orchid regularly provides it with the nutrients it needs for optimal health, immunity and vigorous blooming. Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here

The Dendrobium Mayneal Uraiwan is a magnificent, highly sought-after hybrid orchid prized for its bright yellow flowers and striking red-purple lips. Known universally as a perfect "beginner's orchid" due to its incredibly easy-to-grow and hardy nature, this resilient variety produces beautifully arranged mildly fragrant flowers that make each inflorescence look absolutely stunning. It makes a luxurious, visually captivating statement piece for any home, bright office, or orchid collection.

✨ Flower Specialties

  • Vivid Color Palette: Features striking, bright golden-yellow twisting petals that beautifully surround a contrasting velvety, deep maroon-red lip.

  • Stunning Arrangement: The eye-catching flowers are perfectly arranged along the stem to create a visually dense, breathtaking inflorescence.

  • Bloom Longevity: A single flower spike yields rich clusters that remain fresh, vibrant, and pristine for 6 to 8 weeks under standard home conditions.

  • Frequent Reblooming: This high-performing hybrid can bloom 2 to 3 times a year when mature and healthy, offering beauty across multiple seasons.

  • Delightful Fragrance: Emits a subtle, sweet, and fruity scent that peaks in intensity during bright mid-morning sunlight.

🪴Care Guide

  • ☀️ Lighting & Placement: Provide bright, indirect sunlight for 6 to 8 hours daily (an east-facing window or behind a sheer curtain on a south-facing windowsill is ideal). Avoid direct midday sun to prevent leaf scorching and sun scald.

  • 💧 Watering Rules: This beginner-friendly orchid loves to be watered well but needs to dry out a bit between waterings. Water thoroughly in the morning only when the top 1 to 2 inches of potting media feels completely dry. Never let the pot sit in stagnant water to protect against root rot.

  • 🌡️ Temperature & Humidity: Maintain warm daytime temperatures between 21°C and 36°C, with a slight drop at night. Target a relative humidity level of 50% to 70%.

  • 🌬️ Air Movement: Place the pot over a pebble tray filled with water or use a small fan to ensure consistent, gentle ambient air movement around the foliage.
