  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Plants grown under ideal light will have apple green leaves and plants which are not getting enough light will have dark green leaves. Learn more about light here

In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark.  Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. While often confused with Dendrobium lindleyi, D. jenkinsii is easily distinguished by its more intimate, minimalist flower clusters and smaller growth habit.

🌸 Flower Specialties

  • Size Deception: The brilliant golden-yellow flowers are disproportionately massive compared to the plant's tiny, creeping pseudobulbs.

  • Distinct Lip: Each bloom features a large, velvety, fan-shaped lip with a deeper orange-yellow throat.

  • Elegant Flower Count: Unlike Dendrobium lindleyi, D. jenkinsii produces short spikes with only 1 to 3 flowers per cluster, giving it a refined, minimalist display.

  • Waxy Texture: The petals have a glossy, waxy substance that allows the blooms to remain fresh and vibrant for 2 to 3 weeks.

🌿Care Guide

  • Provide bright, filtered sunlight (similar to Cattleya orchids).

  • Healthy leaves should be a light green color; dark green indicates insufficient light, which prevents blooming.

  • Summer: Enjoys warm conditions between 24°C and 35°C.

  • Winter: Needs cooler night drops down to 10°C–15°C to induce spring flower buds.
