Heat-tolerant Cymbidium can flower even in higher temperatures unlike the standard Cymbidiums. They like a well draining drier medium like Pine Bark.

Ground Orchids are generally potted in garden soil or Coconut Husk or Coco Peat. Depending on the pot size they may take time for medium to dry.  So touch and feel the medium and water when them medium is half dry. Learn more about watering here

Fertilizing

Cymbidium dayanum Red sp. is native to Eastern Himalayas,  Thailand, China, Vietnam, Borneo, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Japan. Found in areas where they receive a lot of bright light and good air movement. This species likes the winter rest, and blooms in late summer to fall with pendulous long almost 1.5feet long inflorescences. This species likes to be watered well and does not like the medium to dry out completely, please ensure good aeration for the plants to grow well. Grow it in smaller pots.
