Cattleya orchids are very sturdy and can take a lot of abuse from those who tend to forget to water. They are also tolerant of several temperature ranges.

  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Plants grown under ideal light will have apple green leaves and plants which are not getting enough light will have dark green leaves. Learn more about light here 

 Watering

In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark.  Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. Fertilizing

🌿 Care Guide

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight (east or shaded west-facing window). Target light, grassy-green foliage; dark green leaves indicate too little light for blooming, while yellowish bronze signals sunburn.

  • Watering: Water thoroughly only when the growing medium dries out completely, allowing excess water to drain fully never let the roots sit in standing water.

  • Temperature & Humidity: Keep daytime temps between 21°C–35°C  with cooler nights (15°C–18°C / 60°F–65°F) to trigger new flower spikes. Maintain humidity at 50%–70% using a pebble tray or humidifier.
