Short Description: Cattleya purpurata var. alba is an epiphyte, Cattleya species, that is found on tall trees near coastal areas in Brazil. The orchid favors bright light and warm conditions and is relatively easy to cultive. C. purpurata has been used extensively as a parent in hybridizing. Cattleya purpurata blooms from late spring to fall with two to three flowers on a spike. The flowers are long-lasting and fragrant. Very striking flowers, Fragrant flowers. A late spring to early summer bloomer,  Allow a drier winter rest and provide moderate light year round. A classic which belongs in every Cattleya species collection!
