Cattleya orchids are very sturdy and can take a lot of abuse from those who tend to forget to water. They are also tolerant of several temperature ranges.

  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Plants grown under ideal light will have apple green leaves and plants which are not getting enough light will have dark green leaves. Learn more about light here 

 Watering

In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark.  Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. Fertilizing

🪴Care Guide

  • ☀️ Light & Temperature: Provide strong, bright indirect sunlight near an east- or west-facing window. Maintain warm daytime temperatures between 20°C and 36°C. To trigger abundant blooming, allow nighttime temperatures to drop slightly to 15°C–18°C.

  • 💧 Water & Dry Cycles: Follow a strict dry cycle. Allow the potting medium to dry out completely before watering again. Flush the pot fully and thoroughly, ensuring no standing water remains in the tray to protect against root rot.

  • 🌬️ Humidity & Airflow: Maintain daily atmospheric moisture levels between 50% and 70%. Always provide constant, gentle airflow with a nearby fan to prevent fungal and bacterial rot on the delicate foliage.
