Cattleya Care Guide
Cattleya Care Guide
Cattleya orchids are very sturdy and can take a lot of abuse from those who tend to forget to water. They are also tolerant of several temperature ranges.

Watering
In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark. Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant. Learn more about watering here
Fertilizing
Fertilizing your orchid regularly provides it with the nutrients it needs for optimal health, immunity and vigorous blooming. Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here

- Explodes with a striking, beautiful lilac-pink background dynamically accented by a vibrant, burgundy-purple petal splash and a richly saturated lip.
- Produces numerous medium-sized blossoms tightly gathered into exceptionally big clusters, making the entire plant look like a giant, dramatic puff of purple colour. The blooms release a delightful, delicate fragrance that easily brightens up any room.
- Well-suited for standard indoor home environments and intermediate greenhouse climates. Because of its tough Cattleya Chocolate Drop heritage, the waxy blossoms are highly durable and stay pristine for several weeks.
- Requires bright, indirect sunlight to trigger its signature heavy clustering. A bright east or shielded south-facing window is perfect, but ensure it is protected from harsh, direct midday rays to avoid leaf scorching.
- Follow a disciplined wet-to-dry cycle. Water the root system thoroughly, then allow the coarse, well-draining orchid potting medium (such as medium-grade fir bark or charcoal) to completely dry out before watering again. Never let the roots sit in stagnant, waterlogged conditions.
- Thrives in intermediate to warm conditions, ideally maintaining daytime temperatures between 18°C and 35°C. It adapts beautifully to normal household temperature fluctuations but should be shielded from freezing winter drafts and extreme heatwaves.
