Cattleya orchids are very sturdy and can take a lot of abuse from those who tend to forget to water. They are also tolerant of several temperature ranges.

  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Plants grown under ideal light will have apple green leaves and plants which are not getting enough light will have dark green leaves. Learn more about light here

In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark.  Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions.   • Intense Fragrance & Lifespan: Delivers a distinct, sweet rose like perfume. Individual flowers last roughly 3 weeks, and keeping open blooms in a cool area extends their life.

  • Light: Medium high, filtered light (25,000–35,000 lux). Provide bright morning and late afternoon sun while shielding from intense midday heat. Aim for light olive green leaves as an indicator of proper light levels.

  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm grower with daytime temperatures of  26°C–35°C. A distinct day to night temperature drop stimulates proper bud initiation. Protect from drafts below 55°F (12°C).
