Watering
In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark. Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant. Learn more about watering here
Fertilizing
Fertilizing your orchid regularly provides it with the nutrients it needs for optimal health, immunity and vigorous blooming. Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here

Cattleya dowiana is a beautiful species native to Columbia. It is the only cattleya species of the Cattleya labiata group that has yellow sepals and petals and with its dark crimson-purple lip veined with gold. Cattleya dowiana likes to grow in a bit more shade than most Cattleya, particularly in the summer months. In winter months they go semi-dormant and need less water without fertilizer. Foliar feeding is acceptable and good practice during winter. Cattleya dowiana is one of the most beautiful of the cattleya species and has been a treasure for collectors since its discovery in 1850. This is a species that is hard to obtain, and we have limited quantity!
