Short Description: Monstera deliciosa, the Swiss cheese plant, is a species of flowering plant native to tropical rain forests of southern Mexico, They are famous for their natural leaf holes called fenestrations, these plants evolved themselves to get fenestrations to avoid the accumulation of water on the large leaves as they are native to the rain forests. In nature, they grow under canopies of large trees and can anchor themselves to tree trunks so Monstera varieties can survive in lower light conditions but growth may slow. Keep out of direct sunlight for extended periods, as it can burn the leaves.
