Kalanchoe is a highly popular, slow-growing succulent flowering plant native to the tropical landscapes of Madagascar. Belonging to the stonecrop family, this compact houseplant is globally adored for its glossy, scalloped green leaves and its ability to produce rich, pillowy mounds of color with almost minimal effort.
A Kalanchoe species was one of the first plants to be sent into space.  

🌸 Flower Specialty
  • Color: Explodes in an incredibly wide array of vivid, cheerful colors, including fiery red, vibrant orange, bright yellow, soft pink, magenta, and pristine white.
  • Display: Features tight, umbrella-like clusters of small, four-petaled flowers (or multi-petaled double blooms often called Calandiva) that rise elegantly above the dark green, fleshy foliage.
  • Climate / Bloom Duration: Thrives beautifully in warm, dry indoor climates. It is a photoperiodic plant, meaning it naturally buds during the shorter days of winter and early spring, with individual flower heads remaining vibrant and showy for up to 6 to 8 weeks or more.
🌿 Care Guide
  • Light: Requires plenty of bright, indirect sunlight to keep its foliage compact and fuel future blooms. A south- or east-facing windowsill is perfect; however, shield it from intense, direct midday summer sun to avoid bleaching the leaves.
  • Watering: Follows a strict succulent routine—water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry. Its thick leaves store water efficiently, making the plant highly drought-tolerant and extremely prone to root rot if left in soggy or waterlogged potting media.
  • Temperature & Soil: Enjoys warm to intermediate household temperatures ranging comfortably between 15°C and 27°C. It must be potted in a lightweight, sharply well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix, and should always be shielded from cold winter drafts or frost.
