Meet the Hoya australis, a gorgeous, fast-growing twist on the classic wax plant. Known for its lush, rounder, and broader ovate leaves, this variety brings a softer, fuller look to your indoor jungle. Unlike the narrow, rigid leaves of a classic Hoya carnosa, the Hoya australis features beautifully pliable, glossy green foliage that feels less like a stiff succulent and more like a vibrant, living tapestry.

Watch this plant explore! Its vigorous, searching tendrils often emerge with a stunning, faint reddish-bronze tint before maturing into a bright, deep green. With a little time and love, it will reward you with spectacular, shiny clusters of porcelain-white star flowers accented by deep red markings under the central crown.

Care Guide:

The "Taco Test" for Watering: Because the leaves are slightly thinner than other Hoyas, watering is a breeze. Simply try to gently fold a lower leaf. If it’s stiff, your plant is hydrated. If it easily bends like a taco shell or puckers, it’s time for a thorough watering!

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Plenty of bright light is the secret to unlocking those gorgeous white and red blooms.

Styling Tip: While it looks stunning spilling naturally over the sides of its pot, try adding a hoop trellis or a moss pole. This vigorous climber loves to wrap around structures to show off its searching tendrils!
