Epidendrum Epidendrum Miracle Valley 'Nodeshiko' is a compact hybrid and is a free bloomer. This amazing hybrid maintains its miniature form at 8 inches tall. These plants remain compact and only grow bushier. This orchid can flower twice per year, showing off magenta flowers saturated in color that last for several weeks. The flowers are beautiful, look lovely as a bunch. Easy to grow plants. Epidendrum orchids are also called as the crucifix orchid or the holy cross orchids. These orchids love to grow in coconut husk chips and enjoy good moist medium.
Growing tip - If you want your plant to grow bushier, cut the spikes.
Epidendrums are usually tall reed-like orchids also called crucifix orchids. The inflorescence are very long lasting, blooming upwards of a hundred flowers in succession on a single stem! Epidendrums, like most tropical orchids, have two distinct seasons; a hot, wet growing period followed by a cooler, drier, flowering season. Generally a new growth is initiated around March. At this time increase the watering keeping the medium moist but not soggy. By the end of September - October, decrease the watering, allowing the plants to dry out somewhat between waterings. Water well everytime you water!
