Epidendrum Yellow Doll is a hybrid epidendrum orchid, A free bloomer. These plants grow bushy and bloom with lots of tiny yellow flowers, looking lovely as a bunch, this bunch also appears like a yellow ball. Easy to grow plants. Epidendrum orchids are also called the crucifix orchid or the holy cross orchids. These orchids love to grow in coconut husk chips and enjoy good moist medium.
Growing tip - If you want your plant to grow bushier, cut the spikes.
Epidendrums are usually tall reed-like orchids also called crucifix orchids. The inflorescence are very long lasting, blooming upwards of a hundred flowers in succession on a single stem! Epidendrums, like most tropical orchids, have two distinct seasons; a hot, wet growing period followed by a cooler, drier, flowering season. Generally a new growth is initiated around March. At this time increase the watering keeping the medium moist but not soggy. By the end of September - October, decrease the watering, allowing the plants to dry out somewhat between waterings. Water well everytime you water!
