Description
Vandopsis parishii is a species orchid native to Burma, Thailand, Vietnam and North east India, Parish's Vanda is a large, warm to hot growing, orchid growing on trees. Blooms in the Spring. These fragrant, early summer blooming flowers are yellow with brown spotting. Vanda parishii has many names, Phalaenopsis hygrochila, Hygrochilus parishii & Phalaenopsis marriottiana.
These orchids are all epiphytic.They do not like any potting medium. Vanda orchid must not be allowed to dry out entirely. Saturate the roots with water overtime you water, that means the roots should turn green and retain a drop of water at the tip. Watering of this Vandas must be done with care to prevent water from remaining in the crowns ( top leafs), a condition that can cause crown rot.
