Short Description: Phalaenopsis amabilis commonly known as the moth orchid or moon orchid, Is a species native to East Indies and Australia, widely cultivated as a decorative houseplant. All sepals and petals of the flowers are pure white, and the midlobe of the lip has a bit of yellow. The size and shape vary depending on the habitats. The cultivation conditions will affect the number of flowers and the size of the flowers. It has a subtle scent of green grass. The leaves are variegated, this variety has a lot of ornamental value.
Phalaenopsis orchids can be grown as indoor plants as long as they get sufficient amount of light & air circulation. Please be careful with the watering as the medium retains too much moisture. Touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant. The medium could take up to a week to dry.
