Short Description: Paphiopedilum Rothschildianum is native to North Borneo. They grow in heaps of decaying leaves which are found on the ground of mountain slopes. They often grow at a distance of 6-12meters from a flowing water body. This Paphiopedilum orchid species blooms in the spring and summer. large, showy flowers, some can even reach a diameter of 30-45 cm. You will receive a plant with 2 growths. A rare and most wanted species. Very limited stock!
As always, water low in salts is a must. Plants should be kept evenly moist and provided with moderate light as for phalaenopsis.
Paphiopedilum orchids are also called as lady's slipper orchid as the lip of the flower resembles a ladies shoe. Paphiopedilums flower on each new growth once matures, with the older growths remaining on the plant to provide energy for the new plants. Older growths will eventually die off as new growths continue to emerge.
