Oncidium Care Guide

The Oncidium family is very large and includes many flower varieties. Most of them flowers in Spring and Fall.

Oncidium orchids grow well under medium light. However certain hybrids from Thailand can even grown in bright indirect light. Learn more about light here

Please be careful with the watering as the Sphagnum moss medium retains too much moisture. The medium could take up to a week to dry. Other medium like Pine bark dries within 1 or 2 days. Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant.  Learn more about watering here

Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here

Miltoniopsis are also called the “pansy orchid”. Miltoniopsis Newton Falls is a hybrid of Mps. Hamburg X Mps. Goodnews Bay. Miltoniopsis orchids love humidity so provide a good moisture retentive medium to constantly provide the plant with a moist environment. These plants' foliage never grows taller than 30-40 cm. The large flowers create stunning displays, because of the oriental colors. The fragrance is very lemony. A bright kitchen or bathroom would be an ideal place, mist the leaves with water occasionally.
Miltionopsis orchids cannot take temperatures higher than 28ºC, as soon as the temperature rises the plants start showing signs of bacterial infection.
Being a temperature-sensitive plant, we do not accept any transit damage claims on Miltoniopsis plants.
