Short Description: Grammatophyllum wallisii sp. is native to the Philippines. This form has flower spikes that are erect and not arching, with flowers about 10 cm across. A large thick caned species, this species grows well in warm conditions, Grammatophyllum plants can also grow well in full sun too!. In warmer regions, the plants do well hanging under a tree in the garden or in semi-shade areas. A few of the leaves of the older growths have discoloration as shown in the picture, This is not seen in the new growths.

The plant as it grows older will form a basket of aerial roots, which is designed to catch falling leaves which will decompose and release nutrients and thus sustain the plant.
