Arachnis Maggie Oei Variegated is a hybrid orchid, which was developed from the hybridization of Arachnis hookeriana and Arachnis flos-aeris. It is commonly referred to as a "Scorpion Orchid" The leaves are striking, which reach up to 18 inches in length. These leaves are a mix of vibrant green and yellow hues, forming a unique variegated pattern. Furthermore, this plant has the capability of producing large, fragrant flowers up to 5 inches in diameter.
The orchid is named after Maggie Oei, a prominent figure in the orchid community who has contributed greatly to the development of orchid hybrids.
The Arachnis orchids require bright, indirect light to thrive. These orchids are all epiphytic. They do not like any potting medium. Vanda orchids must not be allowed to dry out entirely. Saturate the roots with water over time you water, which means the roots should turn green and retain a drop of water at the tip. Watering of these Vandas must be done with care to prevent water from remaining in the crowns ( top leaves), a condition that can cause crown rot.
