Paphiopedilum rothschildianum x sib - BS Without flowers

Paphiopedilum rothschildianum x sib is a famous Paphiopedilum orchids. This species is native to Borneo where it grows on Mount Kinabalu. It was first imported by Frederick Sander, often referred to as the 'Orchid King', who had one of the most amazing orchid nurseries in England. Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach named it after Sander's friend, Ferdinand de Rothschild, These modern-day crosses are the finest examples of the "King of the Paphiopedilums", with flowers reaching 30 centimeters in width! The large flowers are stunning, with vivid dark colors and large, tall stems that can bear 3 to 5 flowers. The plant is shipped as a single growth. 

Since Paphs. are seed cultures no two plants will bear the exact same flowers. 

As always, water low in salts is a must. Plants should be kept evenly moist and provided with moderate light similar to the phalaenopsis.

Paphiopedilum orchids are also called ladies' slipper orchids as the lip of the flower resembles a lady's shoe. Paphiopedilums flower on each new growth once matures, with the older growths remaining on the plant to provide energy for the new plants. Older growths will eventually die off as new growths continue to emerge.
