Short Description: Cattleya purpurata species is native to Brazil. One of the most iconic species in the genera. Cattleya purpurata is one of the ancestors for a large majority of the hybrids we see in cultivation today. An easy growing, easy blooming species. The flowers are highly fragrant and rally large - 6" across. The Var. russeliana is a beautiful variation with very subtle blue-pink lines on the lip.
